This is the tumblelog for Christopher Jones' Web Minion, i.e. the person who helps comic book artist Christopher Jones maintain his web presence. I also help with promotions and conventions. The posts on this tumblelog do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Christopher Jones. (My opinions are my own!) If you are looking for Christopher Jones' tumblelog, click here.
dickbabs asked: hello! that Flash fam art of Wally singing Thrift Shop is actually a repost. the original artist is murmernator on tumblr :)
Welcome to tumblr, where everything you like is wrong and you should feel bad about it.
abstractandbriefchronicles asked: i totally get what you mean about the celts taking no shit as far as rape etc was concerned but actually they might have been illiterate but they certainly weren't backwards barbarians! the existence of celtic art alone is evidence of a fairly sophisticated society, even if they still operated on a tribal system rather than the urban way of life like the romans. they worshipped a mother goddess and had lots of badass ladies. plus the dark age celtic laws regarding women were awesome. :)
Oh, no, they were anything but backwards barbarians! The Celts were awesome! I was being sarcastic there; I should have been more clear.
Did you know that although we lump all the Celtic people into one group, they did not consider themselves as one singular culture but as distinct tribes with their own customs and history and deities. However, the reason all these tribes are lumped into one large group is because they all had related languages and also certain shared basic aspects of their religious and social structure. The Celts were also incredibly pantheistic, so much so that their customary oath was “I swear by whatever gods my people customarily swear by.” Oooh, and the Celts, unlike most other cultures, didn’t celebrate solstices and equinoxes but rather the points in between and they didn’t see opposites as being antagonistic to each other but rather complementary.
Really, if anyone is a barbarian, it’s those damned Romans.
okay back to work on this stupid website
Is anybody else reeaallllly curious to see how tumblr culture will change when the majority user base ages out of school and into the workforce?
